The high-performance NISMO is coming back to Europe in 2025, and Nissan have revealed the exciting key specifications and performance data.
The new flagship EV delivers a thrilling, accessible performance, blending Nissan’s latest EV technology with a NISMO-tuned powertrain, handling package and improved aerodynamics.
UK customers can secure priority access to be one of the first to buy a right-hand drive ARIYA NISMO by contacting their local Hendy Nissan dealer later this month.
The fifth anniversary of World EV Day arrived with an exciting announcement from Nissan. The Japanese marque is preparing for its first high-performance EV to hit European roads. Are you ready to meet the new Nissan ARIYA NISMO?
Feel the thrill of this all-electric sensation that doesn’t compromise, offering stunning on-road performance in an affordable, practical package. This 100%-electric SUV retains its Japanese-inspired design while building on Nissan’s rich NISMO heritage, combining all the benefits of the regular 87kWh ARIYA e-4ORCE with a range of motorsport-inspired upgrades.
Crafted for aerodynamic performance
The ARIYA NISMO has been engineered with performance in mind. It’s beautiful on the outside, with a sleek, aerodynamic design, and drivers can enjoy the feeling of effortlessly slicing through the air, thanks to its powerful near-silent electric powertrain.
A new twin diffuser, ducktail rear spoiler, front splitter with canard vortices generators and extended lower bumpers help reduce the car’s lift coefficient by an impressive 40%, achieving CL 0.11 compared to CL 0.18 for the regular ARIYA. And new Formula E-inspired spoilers and air curtains help reduce drag and smooth airflow along the body.
The combination of unique 20-inch ‘NISMO’-embossed ENKEI wheels and special Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres reduces un-sprung mass and improves brake cooling while delivering increased grip and on-road security. The ARIYA NISMO’s cast-aluminium rims were manufactured using ENKEI’s proprietary ‘MAT Process’ and offer a strength-to-weight ratio comparable to forged wheels.
Impressive cornering ability and acceleration
Go 0–62mph in just five seconds and 50–70 mph in only 2.4 seconds in the thrilling ARIYA NISMO. This powerful performance is due to the increased power of the NISMO-tuned powertrain, which builds on the performance of the 87kWh ARIYA e-4ORCE – power increases almost 130PS to 435PS (429hp/320kW) while torque remains an impressive 600Nm.
But it isn’t just about straight-line speed. Experience greater turning and lateral forces than the GT-R NISMO, thanks to upgrades including enhancements to the car’s e-4ORCE four-wheel-drive system.
Applying knowledge from the GT-R NISMO’s famous ATTESA system, the ARIYA NISMO’s specially tuned e-4ORCE system lets drivers enjoy a more sporting feel compared to the regular ARIYA e-4ORCE. With a new 60:40 rear bias, the system delivers a 12% improvement in line-tracing performance and maximised mechanical grip by adjusting the power sent to each wheel 10,000 times per second.
Achieve enhanced balance and body control with the reworked suspension, which has revised spring rates, stabilisers and shock absorber settings for greater agility at higher speeds. And delight in a more exhilarating driving experience thanks to retuned steering, which adds increased resistance and a more direct feel as speeds increase.
Drivers will always feel safe and secure on the road, even while experiencing the full thrill and agility of the NISMO, thanks to ‘i-Booster’, which increases braking performance with revised regeneration tuning. And to truly test this car’s versatility, select the new ‘NISMO’ driving mode, which enhances how it responds to driver inputs for an even more enjoyable driving experience.
A focus on luxury and comfort
Relish in a true premium experience in the ARIYA NISMO’s meticulously redesigned interior. There are a host of luxurious interior finishings. The specifically designed sporty seats, for example, offer enhanced support and body-hugging grip under hard cornering and are trimmed in a suede-like material that features stitched NISMO logos.
And it’s not just the seats. From the brand’s iconic red stitching on the steering wheel to new digital gauge designs, the essence of NISMO flows throughout the interior. There are signature NISMO-red accents throughout that create a high-quality, sporty ambience and a new blackened wood texture, adding a sophisticated and modern look to the elegant atmosphere.
When will it be in the UK?
Sales of the new Nissan ARIYA NISMO will begin in January 2025, initially available in one standard launch specification with a NISMO Stealth Grey exterior finish – as previously seen on GT-R. Customers can contact their local Hendy Nissan dealer later this month to secure priority access to a right-hand drive ARIYA NISMO and be one of the first to get behind the wheel. The ARIYA NISMO will be sold in all European markets where the model is already available, except Cyprus, Malta and Northern Ireland, and regular sales are expected to start in January 2025.
